In view of mastodon.social's arbitrary and capricious censorship practices, I see little point in continuing to participate in Mastodon. Even were I to migrate my account to another instance, I would still be limited on Mastodon's original and largest instance.

On 31 October 2024, the moderators of mastodon.social limited my account without explanation, and on 13 November 2024, they rejected my appeal, again without explanation.

I violated none of mastodon.social's server rules. My offense seems to have been supporting Jill Stein's candidacy for president of the United States. Posters who replied to me with foul language (which I never used here) were not similarly limited.

A bizarre phenomenon I have noticed here on Mastodon is ostensible liberals who, because I support #JillStein for president, post all sorts of slanders and promptly block me so that I cannot reply.

I think the legal arguments in the NLG amicus brief may be relevent in the event that former UN weapons inspector and writer Scott Ritter, who is currently the target of a Foreign Agents Registration Act investigation, is criminally charged. Last week, the Chicago chapter of the National Lawyers Guild sought leave to file an amicus brief in the case of the Uhuru Three. I bought it on PACER and have uploaded it to CourtListener via the RECAP browser extension. I've been following the case of the Uhuru Three, who go on trial next month for alleged violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act. The U.S. government is trying to prevent the jury from hearing any argument that the defendants' conduct is protected by the First Amendment.
