More #LegionGoS shenanigans: I just launched Steam from Legion Space (the software solution that's necessary because Windows is terrible on handhelds), and it alerted me that "other games/apps are running." It suggested that to improve performance, I should "close other games and start new game."

When I clicked that, it uninstalled Steam.

I wish I was making this up.

If someone who's used Linux for 7 years and has experience installing stuff like PeerTube servers and Mastodon instances can't figure this out, how can we expect others to take control of their privacy, and embrace decentralized platforms and stuff like Matrix?

Welp. I've spent two hours trying to install a Matrix homeserver. I've tried droplets. I've tried it manually. I've used Debian and Ubuntu. I've consulted multiple guides.

This, every time:

Job for matrix-synapse.service failed because the control process exited with error code.

See "systemctl status matrix-synapse.service" and "journalctl -xeu matrix-synapse.service" for details.

• Shrugs* I can't let this consume my entire day. Maybe I'll just run the space using matrix.org 😢

2nd game of 2025 finished, and what a delightful experience. It was a blast to team up with Bowser! (Nope, I had never finished this when I had it on SNES back in the day.)

Did Square go on to develop any other RPGs with Nintendo characters? Because I'd play those in a heartbeat.

HOWEVER, the front-facing speakers on the new Legion Go S are so much better than the weak, tinny ones on the Legion Go. Night and day!

Ok now we're looking at native resolution, and it's still a pretty close race between the Z1 Extreme in the Legion Go and the Z2 Go in the Legion Go S.

BUT, you'll feel the difference when it comes to minimum framerates. I suspect that will be a trend as the testing continues.

As usual, Steam Deck punches way above its weight considering the 15W TDP.

It'll be interesting to see a direct comparison between the Legion Go + Legion Go S at 1920x1200, though. That's next.
