Am i drunk or did the „last 24 hours“ option in App Store Connect (Trends) disappear?

(I‘m not drunk btw)

For german speaking people this article is really good. It’s not just about the US election but in general about the unreal state of the world. Where truth and facts have no meaning. Where crazy stuff happens nonstop but nothing even has consequences.

It should be obvious for 99% of the people that the orange dude is totally unfit to be president, that putin is a small wannabe dictator/imperialist, that we need to support ukraine etc

But here we are.

This actually could be the most useful feature which i ever made for myself 😄 now in the mornings i just open Woofly and take a look at the weather timeline. And i already see if i have to go on my dog-walks at certain times or if it doesn’t matter.

I‘m just happy i included this feature 🐶🌥️

Made the video with Rotato app amd Screenflow, both on mac. Bought the music on audiojungle (i think the name changed but i still call it this way). Oh and first time i used WeatherKit. It was really nice to use and simple. I didn’t know it even returns the SF Symbol name for a given weather condition. It’s awesome 😄 🌥️

If you’re like me, then you don’t like walking your dog in the rain…

Woofly app in the 1.2.0 update now has a new feature: It shows at a glance the best times for walking your dog!

You can set which probability of rain is still ok for you (e.g. if you’re ok to go on a walk when there’s medium probability) and the new weather tile shows what times should be ok for you (in the next 24h).

You can see it in the short video below.

Ok seems like „maintenant“ is really the only french word for „now“. Funny bc normally it’s german with the long words. But this time german is much shorter („jetzt“). Well i have tofind something else, maybe some kind of symbol 🤔 (i have not much space in the UI)

French speaking people: is there really no shorter word for „now“ than „maintenant“? That’s looong for UI stuff 😩

I posted that my goal is to have about 30-40 paying subscribers for Woofly until end of the year (https://mastodon.social/@sandropennisi/113135592178730518). So I made a Numbers document with a chart. A line showing where I should be on a given date and another line showing where I really am (green line in the pic). Also with trend.

So currently I'm on track but very narrowly 😅 will be very close. But i think it helps (at least for me) to have a clear goal and something "measurable".

Both AstroJump versions, Smokefree, Next (expense tracker), Widgeridoo and Parrot are those I'll pull first from the store. Don't know when yet but probably sometime this month. They really make just a handful of dollars each month and it's not useful to invest more time (and also they don't make much sense in today's App Store)

Lowered prices on most of my apps. Made few of them free (the silly ones, like the AstroJump widget game and AstroJump on Apple tv).

Currently i have 10 apps or more in the store and i want to slowly reduce this and retire some old apps. So i can better focus. My longterm goal would be to have one or two products which make kinda enough money. But not there yet.

Rewind, Timeview, Fuoco, Presets, Kolibri will currently stay and Woofly is my prio and i hope it will become my main income someday.

I especially like the context menus. I have them everywhere in the app. While it’s nothing spectacular they are really handy. You can do a lot of quick actions without having to go through detail views.

E.g. if an item has attachments you can quickly preview them (you can add multiple attachments, images, links, files) or if it has an address you can directly open it in maps

Released a few Woofly updates lately and made a small overview. Basically it was just an excuse to design some rounded rects and stuff to be honest! But also, the walks features are cool and now free for everyone too!

I broke SwiftUI previews in Xcode. In my experience previews are much more broken in Xcode 16 than before. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Woofly can record your dog walks. And now there’s Walk Notes!

While on your walk just tap a button to add a note/image to your current position.

This means: note what’s happening and where it’s happening!

It’s in the latest update 1.1.0 and the Walks feature is now free for everyone, including the Walk Notes!

I made a small video for it:

Ok turns out you can really easily make custom symbols, i didn’t know this, thought you have to manually edit a svg file etc, good to know 😅

Sometimes you have an SF Symbol which doesn’t support multiple colors but it still would make sense. For example the „pill“ icon shows two pills but you can’t color them individually.

I use this „trick“ in such cases. I set a gradient as the foreground. But one which changes „abruptly“ from one to the other color. Basically you add a stop for color1 at a position and some pixels after this you add a stop for color2. Works pretty ok for simple icons. Like this:

Obviously these are just my experiences with my specific app.

I think e.g. Tiktok can work with games. Reddit can probably work with stuff for techie people.

Insta worked "best" for me because there are tons of dog people. (but really, barely some installs)

Apple Search Ads have the advantage that the user is already in the AppStore browsing etc. So very low friction. But holy shit those Costs Per Tap are a joke. For my relevant keywords it's mostly 2 or 3$ and more. Which is crazy.
