This must be how people who want you to believe they are smart ask a question without revealing that they’re too scared to just ask the question.

A year after a foolish pivot to a lootbox business model, the team behind the previously excellent to-do app Clear comes to the obvious conclusion that charging customers for useful features is a sensible business model:

[#]Eleventy #11ty question:
Within a plugin¹, is it possible to query the collections API² in a manner similar to what's available in the addCollection()
method’s callback?
Use case is I'd like to specify one or more collections by name as an option to a plugin and retrieve that content using the Collections API's methods.
eleventyConfig.addPlugin(somePluginName, { collections: ["note", "article”], // … });

Another late night new-to-me @eleventy discovery:
JavaScript templates (e.g. some-page.11ty.js
) can have layouts! I couldn’t find this in the documentation, but it works.
Using a JavaScript class, set a layout
key and value on the returned object from the data()
function. The return value from the render()
method is exposed as content
to the defined layout.

It’s a small thing, but for those of us accustomed to URLs of this style (from, say, years and years working with a popular Ruby framework), it’s comfortable and familiar. I’m quite glad that I found it in the docs and that @zachleat took the time to write about it.

I found something interesting and new-to-me last night in the @eleventy documentation, so… I turned it into a plug-in:
