Good deed rewarded! Some days I just expect a miracle. Or at least something very good. Back about a month ago in my old/original Mastodon account I posted about finding a precious paper cutting from my brother, sent to me from 30 years ago. This was about 5-6 years before he began an unknown decline in vision to where he became legally blind. I was starting to cull many years of documents I’ve hauled around between 5 states. And in an unopened file box, there it was, a bit crumpled but intact!

So today I started in again culling and oh my gosh, found a folder of handwritten family recipes going back 60 years! I thought I’d lost the big notebook years ago and always hoped against reason that I’d find that notebook.

Today I found a folder with all of them! At one point the notebook must have fallen apart and I’d removed the recipes to keep in the folder! Lost and mourned for 20 years—now found!!!! #Recipe

I treasure the beginnings of the first light of day. A magical moment that the light has challenged the glow I switch on about 5:45 am. Buddy cares not about any glow or first light. He cares about the warm bed spot for him on the cold tile floor. But see that one ear still cocked up to an alert mode? The first sound he hears of me walking towards his food bowls-he’ll jump right up.

Oh maybe I was temporarily insane but I admit that I almost bought this pair of blue herons I saw at Costco. I am still thinking about it because I saved the photo. I am sure my son John will be appalled. Yet I’m drawn. They match the color of the pool. And for the 3rd year he’s decided we don’t need to cover it in winter-just clean as needed. Sooooo….

Some of you know I am an avid rock collector and have studied them for years. It's been 20 years now I've been going to the world-famous Tucson Gem and Mineral Show venues! I missed last year (sorry @vickyveritas ) because a week later I had a sudden gall bladder surgery. I was able to go two years ago and it was grand. I want want want to go this coming month but a bit worried about driving, back issues and whatnot. But for a glimpse of what I could see in Tucson, look at this online flip book preview. Sharing a fun view of 3 columns on my desktop/Mac that shows my post of Tuna packets, Pixy's post with her dog and Mat's post with his really nice dinner.I like how it shows the variety of pleasant folks, less doomscrolling in the beige.party. Now if anyone can tell me how to easily approve a follower request, that would really help me. So far I can't do it on the Mastodon app for iOS, and it's hit or miss in Mastondon for Mac. SOMETIMES I get an email about a follow request and SOMETIMES I can click it to "Manage requests" and it will get me to a desktop view I can click to approve. But not all the time. Ideas?

So I think I should share "Media" right away so folks know it's really moi - how about a rock? This "rock" is one of my more "famous" rock photos. I took it in a glass display case at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show years ago in 2007 with a point and shoot camera. The "rock" is an amazing geode from the Bisbee mines and owner called it "Velvet Beauty". Back then it was valued at $25,000. I have thousands of photos on my flickr account that is now about 20 years old. Yikes! #Cobalt #Rock #Azurite #Geode
