One thing I particularly like about my Meta Glasses, is that I no longer need to go to a thing to determine its state.
Before, if I wanted to know if the curtains were closed on a window at the other end of our open plan house, I had to go there and find out. Now, I can stand by the front-door and ask.
It's the little things sometimes 🙌

Remember that the person who filed the PR may be doing so against their better judgement. If so, a "thumbs down" may show them they're not alone in thinking it's a terrible idea, but can I gently suggest not leaving hateful comments just in case?

Following a suggestion from Eva Town (on Bluesky), I've just added my "thumbs down" to the PR to remove inclusive design info from the US Web Design System:

How about you? 👿

The US Web Design System has deleted it's info on inclusive design, in response to the 2025-01-20 Executive order "Ending Radical And Wasteful Government DEI Programs And Preferencing".

So, #OpenAI is in a bit of a tizzy because #DeepSeek "plagiarised" its models for training purposes:

I almost managed to keep a straight face when I read this.
Almost.

Just finished reading How Westminster Works and Why It Doesn't, by Ian Dunt, read by the author. One of the most enlightening books I've read in quite some time.

[#]Naqi neural earbuds will let you control things using brainwaves and/or micro-gestures. If so, they could be revolutionary for anyone unable to use their voice or body to control their tech, smart home, and such:

Wondering how long it'll take before the fact that #Musk has no political stripe sinks in sufficiently?
Musk just likes to meddle - and right now, the press, politicians, and a good number of the rest of us, are giving him all the reaction he needs to make it worthwhile.

I've just encountered the cookie notice on the website for @verge for the first time in a while. A collected 4,297 partners are granted access to your browsing data if you accept them all, including 539 partners for "strictly necessary" cookies alone!
That's like telling a small town of people what you're doing, what you're interested in, where you came from, and more besides!

Right 2025, listen up!
If you think we're going to put up with another 2024, you can think again.
We want more kindness and less hostility; more thoughtfulness and fewer bros; fewer disagreements and more conversations; more curiosity and fewer assumptions; and if you can't manage that, we'll damned well have to do it for ourselves.
On reflection, who's with me?

I'm wearing glasses for the first time in 25 years. Back then I could see, now I can't, but for the first time in 0.25 Century I can look at something unfamiliar and have a reasonable chance of identifying it - without taking my phone out of my pocket.
