Paddy got his first big boy haircut yesterday. He was a very good boy for @RandomCanuck. We hated to see all that adorable puppy fur go, but he was getting a little too…fluffy!

The Christmas classic that bombed at the box office when it was released, but has since become a perennial favourite.

@RandomCanuck and I have watched this movie on Christmas Eve nearly every year since our first Christmas together in 1991. And yeah, I cry at the same scenes every time.

So, I was in a hospital for a CT scan today, and I feel incredibly lucky to have a primary care provider (an NP) who cares — and makes sure I get timely care by advocating for me.

My other observation: due to a rise in respiratory viruses (C-19, flu, RSV, etc.), the hospital strongly recommended masks be worn, and provided them at all entrances. Most people respectfully 😷, but 95% of non/chin/under-the-nose maskers…were men 30-ish to 60-ish. FFS grow up boys! 🙄

Watched “It’s a very Muppet Christmas Movie” tonight for the 22nd year in a row. One of my favorites, because it’s chaotic, funny, and poignant — and the Muppet version of “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

(Besides, if you can help your friends and take revenge on your enemies, isn’t that what Christmas is really all about?) 🤣

Do you have a song or piece of music that always makes you emotional?

Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water (1970) never fails to make me cry. Even in the “before times” this song hit me hard emotionally — right back to my teen years. This song hits me the way religious people feel about certain hymns, I think. 🤷‍♀️

Seriously lowkey Halloween in my ‘hood in Kitchener tonight. Where are all the kids?

Also: our puppy is as excited to meet the children as the children are to meet him. We had one little dude come back to the house to pat Paddy again…until his older brother dragged him away from the door, saying “you can’t just go there to pat the puppy!” 😂
