Update: see thread for more info which seems to address most of the concerns.

Original post:

I don't have a 3D printer but I've heard of friends using Bambu printers, and sounds like a firmware update scheduled for later this week is going to significantly lock down the platform.

The Expanse is leaving Prime Video soon. It's good. If you haven't gotten around to seeing it, or haven't completed it, time seems to be running out. (It is available on blu-ray, fortunately.)

Handed the nephews an “our favorite uncle” card and bribed them to sign and address it to me. They took the bribe money, stuck it in the card, and addressed it to a different uncle.

"Sixty percent of people not lining up for a [#COVID] shot said side effects were a major reason for their disinterest."

I got the #Novavax shot this year and last (for multiple reasons, not least of which is that I think having options is good), and both times, didn't notice any side-effects. That said, I'd had a bunch of mRNA shots and didn't have any notable side-effects from those either. I seem to be one of the luckier ones.

I walk in to the kitchen and notice that I've left the oven mitt out. I put it away. I wonder why I went into the kitchen. I remember it was to get the food out of the oven. I retrieve the oven mitt.

I just finished a re-watch of all four seasons of The Good Place. Such a great show. Amazed and grateful again at how well they closed it.

I don't get there often, but I like Jersey Mike's. I guess I better make a concerted effort to visit again before private equity destroys them.

"E cores running low QoS threads at close to minimum frequency take about four times as long, 38.5 seconds, but use less than 45 mW power per thread. Total energy used to complete one thread is therefore over 23 J when run on P cores, and less than 1.7 J when run on E cores. E cores therefore use only 7% of the energy that P cores do performing the same task.”

I recently purchased the #Easy35 box to use a camera to scan old #film. Based on scanning two rolls so far, it’s far faster and easier than my dedicated film scanner, and I'm pretty happy with the quality.

Just finished watching both seasons of The Old Man over the past week or so. I thought it was excellent. One of the better shows I've seen in a while.

No spoilers, but the artwork Hulu is using for it severely misrepresents the show. I avoided this show for a long time mostly based on that, and the audience score on Rotten Tomatoes wasn't high enough to convince me otherwise. (I'm going to speculate that the pacing was not to everyone's taste; it's definitely very measured.) #TV #TheOldMan

Voted from Germany via absentee ballot, which cleared customs in Philadelphia but "for some unknown reason, it was returned to Germany”, getting back to her this past Saturday.

Within 20 hours of finding her ballot hadn't been counted, she was on a plane heading home — the swing state of Pennsylvania — paying $875 and traveling for 15 hours so she could still vote.

When I read that Hugo Weaving was portraying one of the characters on S4 of Slow Horses, I was confused because I hadn't recognized him. Then when I tried to look up which character he played, I guess I got the wrong character name, and I thought they were saying he was portraying the character who was actually portrayed by James Callis. I was so confused.

Dang it. Bought an album from iTunes and moments later realized I should have checked Bandcamp first. Indeed there it was.
