Asia-Pacific #markets slide after Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs

Checked the Canadian whiskey shelves at the grocery store to see if people were stocking up before the #tariffs take effect.

Hard to say whether the slightly empty shelves were due to the sale or the impending tariffs. Lol.

Unsettled, so I went through condiments on the fridge doors and pitched A LOT of bottles. The oldest was instant coffee that hasn’t been used in many, many years.

Trump launches #tradewar against #Canada with a 25% tariff on most goods

Trump has said the tariffs are to punish Canada for being lax on drugs and migrants even as the US government's figures show less than 1% of fentanyl and illegal migrants are coming from Canada.

CBP data shows the number of people crossing the border into the US last year was 24,000, a drop in the bucket compared with those coming from Mexico.
