Today I pushed a fairly major update to our journey planner which ensures a wider variety of journeys to select from when multiple operators or routes are available.
In this example searching Hamburg - Rome, we now include (among many variations) journeys via both Switzerland and Austria, even when one of them is otherwise ”technically better”. Because you might prefer one or the other for personal reasons.
I’m really excited to launch this project soon and getting some real use feedback!

Well this was hilarious. I was just about to brag that we have added Latvian timetables to Railfinder via GTFS, only to realize that they’re already there through MERITS because since yesterday they do what many have asked for – integrate directly based on the available GTFS data.
Soo there you have it: Latvia is now in MERITS, along with FGC in Catalonia and EAV in Campania, Italy.
Anyway, feedback for other missing timetables welcome.

A bit of good #crossborderrail news today (recently?) is that it’s again possible to book through tickets to/from Stockholm & Göteborg to Germany from DB. Super Sparpreis Europa available.
Only high-speed trains to/from Malmö and only when connecting into Germany. No other SJ trains in Sweden, but Øresundståg are included since before.
