Fun fact: the Babylon is one of the last cinemas from the 1920s in Germany that are still in almost original condition. It's specialized on silent movies and has an actual restored organ and its own orchestra to accompany showings, aiming for maximum authenticity. But they also show movies in the English original version and marathons like this. One of the best cinemas I've been to, highly recommend it if you visit Berlin.

I'm of course not saying that long distance relationships are for everyone, they are hard work and the yearning is crushing sometimes. But to claim to the face of someone in one that they can never work is super entitled and intrusive. I don't go and tell my friends in local relationships that hey, have you considered that you and your partner don't actually like each other? That'd be super weird.

Naysayers claiming my long distance relationship will never work get funnier the longer my partner and I are together. They get more desperate to disprove me too.
"Well, when you finally meet and have to be around each other all the time, you might realize you don't actually like each other!"
Highly unlikely, we already spend pretty much every free minute on call and are perfectly fine, I really don't think physically being in the same space will change that. It'd be very hard for them to pretend to be someone completely else for years and years without me catching on, give me some credit.

Yeah, and? Everyone does. The key here is communication and compromise. Like in every other relationship.
"But, but, what if they annoy you?"
Then I tell them hey, I'm a bit overwhelmed, can you leave me alone for a bit? And they'll do it because we've already been in this situation a million times. It's called respecting boundaries.
Really, all these people are revealing here is their own skill issues with relationships and trust. Maybe work on that before judging others, babes.
