often when i read notes from lefists who are more knowledgeable than me, i get the impression "the collapse will happen any daaaay now".

there was a scene in BoJack Horseman where a soviet spy gives up on destroying America because he convinced himself that it would collapse by itself soon enough. and years later, this sentiment hasn't changed.

it's a belief that people would revolt once their quality of life gets low enough. i find this idea less and less convincing, having seen how the belarusian government fully suppressed the liberation movement, and how it took the russian people mere months to become numb to the deaths caused by their bombs.

@akkartik also, an issue i'm having is that i wrote a module in one file and i have to manually run the module and its dependent module before i can run my project. what do you think of a function that runs files?

@akkartik re: carousel.

i understand why the code window doesn't take the whole screen space, but on a phone it's hardly usable. and the canvas area to the right to it doesn't get much use anyway because you have to hide the code window to interact with the project. could you consider extending the code window fully, or at least making this an option in the menu?

using universally recognised symbols for your app's user interface vs a person in her 50s who never used a diskette in her life, not knowing which pretty button to press to save her phone contact

the store has this painting on the wall. i wonder at what year it was considered fashionable.

at that place i met a bush for plastic waste disposal. humans are so cute. may it come to life and eat the next batch of tourists.

went to a weird store. touched a toblerone for the first time. disappointed. the ones on the display are christmas themed and were produced in september last year. one thing i find unapologetically stupid is that the toblerone's name is partially obscured by a picture. the idea of, letting the name your brand be seen, is alien to an expensive package designer.

yesterday i spoke to a russian woman. she was nice. she didn't feel wrong saying "the belarusain and the russian are basically the same people".

this is how identities get erased. russia successfully assimilated a whole continent of nations. we are next. in the end the dominant culture wins and gets enforced.

you want me to be you. get lost.

one thing i find annoying and harmful about the russian is that they equate their language with their identity.

imagine a foreigner wants to ask you something. first they say "do you speak english?" or "parlez-vous francais?". i had someone walk up to me and ask "are you russian?".

i'm not russian. i do speak your language. i wish i didn't. would this logic be applied to other colonised countries? would a french person call a congolese person french because they speak the same lanaguage?

i'm currently in turkey. the other day i was on a bus with my mother. there was a couple which seemed familiar. i thought to myself: "what is this foreign language? it's neither russian nor ukranian". mom explained that they're from western belarus, judging by the accent. we asked them for directions. they didn't switch to russian, the language that i learned to treat as the normal one.

i feel bad that i don't know the language of my people.

the android apps Megalodon and Voyager used for browsing social media both take about 11mb each to store the apps themselves.

the mobile game Cooped Up that was last updated in 2015 and runs with a 9:16 viewport, is built with Unity and so takes 45mb.
