In my attempt to find a non-Google photo archiving system, I tried KDE Connect linking to my Debian-based Plex server.

KDE Connect lets me choose and send photos directly from my mobile to the server (default location is in Downloads), and then you can run a command line via KDE Connect to move the files from the Download directory to the Plex library location of your choice. And it works! It was much faster than plugging the phone in and attempting via USB.

Also Me: I wonder if I can stream directly from my Plex server (#Thinkpad W520) to my Bluetooth speaker?

(yes you can, and it's marvelous). No home network bandwidth needed!

Got js8mapper working with js8call. I had to change some default settings so that js8mapper could connect via UDP to the right port. The video shows the stations locations highlighted when you click on the callsign list.

Hams will understand the excitement! Found this while cleaning up a closet. Not sure what the switch does. 300 ohm to 75 ohm balun. Will it QRP? SWL antenna only? I have some 300 ohm twin lead around somewhere. A little doublet maybe?

Lenovo Thinkpad W520. On its third life. Was a corporate CAD machine around 6 years ago or more, then Ubuntu for a home security camera setup, now Debian 12 for hopefully a media server running #plex. Ripping some Christmas CDs for next year because the streaming services are terrible.

Did the most recent #Linux Mint updates break the #hamlib rig control software? I have a desktop that I keep updated and an old MS Surface pro that has not been updated. CAT control still works on the Surface with wsjt-x and js8call, not with the updated desktop version. This is with the Hermes Lite 2.

Playing with the Hermes Lite 2 and an old Surface Pro that is running #Linux Mint. SDR software is Quisk tonight, with a little FT8 fun to see how far this throws a signal. 4.7 watts.
