I’m not normally one for nationalism, but if being attacked by a hostile foreign power isn’t a time for solidarity I don’t know what is. So :caflag: it is for now.

We have a neighbour who we’ve been friendly with since moving in, regularly exchanging pleasantries and looking out for each other’s interests.
One day last year, they started making nonsensical demands and behaving irrationally hostile toward us. We’ve been avoiding contact since, and after breaking the trust so thoroughly I don’t see any path to reconciliation.
This story has been repeating in my head all day for some reason.

A lot of pet photos going around tonight, who am I to stop that trend? This is Hobbes, he’s a 5 month old Egyptian Mau who we brought home on Sunday.
He’s still a little shy, but the cuddliest boy with a deadly purr.

North American society has just kind of decided that playing your own personal media aloud in public spaces at whatever volume you like is totally fine.
And I suspect that’s not much different in many other jurisdictions.

Been dragging my feet on deleting my last Meta account (Instagram) due to it keeping me in touch with people I can’t interact with in other online spaces where I’ve also deleted my accounts.
This week’s news is bad, but no surprise from the company who brought you genocide in the name of juicing engagement stats.
So while it’s not like I needed another reason, this at least provoked me into taking the first step: deleting the app from my phone to drastically limit the time I spend there.
