I just had the idea of putting my #Linux ~/.config folder under version control. Me sweet summer child! Lots of applications dump their caches (#REAPER, #vscode) and even binaries (#Qt) there blowing it up to currently 1.3GB. WTF? ~/.cache exists!

[#]MidnightCommander just told me, that setting the #CDPATH environment variable might be a good way to save some keystrokes when using the cd command.

I'm inclined to agree with him.

To all those automatic relay feeds that merely boost hashtags: you do know that we all can follow hashtags ourselves here, right?

It took #Meta more than 24 hours to prepare the barely 50MB of data of my #Facebook, and #Instagram accounts. The queue seems very long at the moment...

I've replaced the BD136 transistor on the #FischertechnikComputing PC/XT/AT interface with a brand new one I bought today at the local electronics store (yes, they still do exist!). Can you guess which one it is (the transistor, not the store)?

I seem to recall we have an antique laptop with a parallel port somewhere so I can test this thing. Otherwise, I'm sure I know someone who might be able to help. 🙂

Without T6 the voltage is back to 5V. So I guess that's it.

Output Q6 of the 8-bit shift register IC4 only delivers around 1.6V to the base of T6 instead of 5V. And now I wonder which of the two parts are broken.

It’s alive! For the most part, that is. Turns out one half of one H-bridge in the interface is broken: M3 won’t turn right. Let’s check the transistors.

A couple of weeks ago, however, I got lucky and one of my alerts on Kleinanzeigen.de went off. And a few days later it was mine. And it's in almost mint condition.

And I wonder ever since if I should really build it. Not because I feared the loss of value by unpacking it.

I fear the loss of a childhood's dream.

Speaking of which: The #FischertechnikComputing "Training Robot" was my favorite model. It was very expensive and I never got one. This is one of my childhood dreams I've kept over the years. They're quite rare today and difficult to find on #eBay or #Kleinanzeigen.
