In general, Facebook Messenger collects this data in the background without you knowing or acknowledging it. It will notice that you are connected to a WiFi and immediately begin searching out through the network for information in these categories on all connected devices.

• Search history (things you searched for in the app)

Redbook (Xiaohongshu) in general allows you to choose how much information you share, and when. Even when uploading pictures to the app, it will ask you each time how much access you want to give it to your device, and specifically ask for consent to upload each image you chose.
