Oh it gets better - Coinbase have acknowledged the issue but do not see it as a security concern (bypassing credit card security verification and attempting to withdraw funds without verification is apparently not a security concern) and instead said I should use their app (which is in breach of GDPR and ePrivacy Directive in my professional opinion) because their web site is known to have these technical issues sometimes...

I would highly recommend NOT making any deposits to Coinbase today via your credit/debit card - it seems their payment gateway is broken and not forwarding payments to credit card security verification (confirmed by my bank) - at least in Sweden.

Never make a payment to a crypto exchange (or anywhere else for that matter) if they do not do credit card security verification - this is very high risk.

Qwen2.5-coder:32b has dropped and it is jaw dropingly good - beats OpenAi's GPT-4o and is on par with Claude 3.5 Sonnet (the highest benchmarked model for coding to date).

I got it to generate an entire blogging platform with MFA, threaded comments, categories, front and backend, mongodb storage and bootstrap/jquery front end - in ~5 minutes on Mac Studio M1 Ultra with 128GB of RAM via Ollama with a context window of 96k... astonishingly good.

I did it! I just created (to my knowledge) the first LLM model trained on EU case law going back 30 years in relation to privacy and data protection. Responses are insanely accurate (no hallucinations) - this is a game changer for my work...

This technique is not new, it has been in wild for about 15 years now from a fingerprinting perspective - but I have never noticed it done this way before - it is a deliberate circumvention measure to avoid detection.

I had to run the base64 code through a decoder to get the image.

I think it is long beyond time that such activities should be considered a #criminal offence, it is a clear attempt to #circumvent the #law.

Here is an example of a decoded one I found - it renders the image with GPU and all GPUs will render the image slightly differently (due to artefacts created by slight differences in the quality of the silicon used in each GPU) making the rendered image unique to a specific device (perfect for device fingerprinting).

Just developing a new scanner to #audit #websites after noticing that EDPS - European Data Protection Supervisor #wec scanner is not killing its processes leading to massive memory leak.

In the process of testing my code on a real web site (I won't disclose who it is) I discovered a cheeky new trick being used by #adtech to avoid detection of #canvas #fingerprinting by other scanners.

They are loading up data elements of pngs in base64...

Looks like the Belgian Presidency failed to get the support it needed for #chatcontrol

As I understand it, the vote scheduled from today has been removed from the agenda due to lack of Member State support and will no longer be pursued under the currently Presidency.

It remains to see how the Hungarian presidency will prioritise this... let's see what happens over the coming months.
