blocked and reported for making an inane joke about someone's post. this fediverse thing is really pretty cruisey and tolerant, innit.

...because immigration is the one burning issue that faces the UK today. forget the economy, or the ongoing car crash that is #brexit - let's just talk about immigrants.

i note they are not talking about "refugees". they're all immigrants now.

this takes greenwashing to a breathtaking new high. we're not burning coal, we're burning wood! that's okay because the carbon we put into the atmosphere will be used to grow more trees! it's #netzero by definition. problem is that it is utter bllx. https://www.drax.com/sustainable-bioenergy/switch-power-station-off-coal/

the climate change narrative is "save the planet". that's wrong. the planet will survive. nature will adapt even if 90% of the species die out. millions of years from now it'll be fine. there'll probably be a fabulous cornucopia of life as now. but...

the narrative has to be "save the species". humans are the ones at risk. we can wipe ourselves out; we are indeed wiping ourselves out. some of us may even survive, but it won't be the advanced civilisation of billions that we have today.

the earth won't miss us.
