What’s up with the #cbs broadcast of the #chicagoBears and #detroitLions #nfl game? It looks like it is broadcast at about 15 frames per second. Commercials look fine. When they do split screen with football and a commercial, the commercial looks better.

So #nbc just aired a story on #whoopingCough and asked why it is becoming more common without providing an answer. Neither the reporters nor anyone they talked to about it thought to mention a vaccine is available and vaccination rates are declining. Of course they also made no mention that it is up from a recent historic low in a time of people being vigilant about spreading respiratory viruses.

This is a great talk from Dengyu Sun from #IOMesh. They are using #rustlang to make a user space file system that is a peer to the default ZPL (#ZFS POSIX [file system] Layer). They’ve also added a new vdev type for async IO to the underlying disks.

Campaign SMS spam has been replaced by commercial SMS spam. The only shocking thing is that the commercial spammers waited until after the election to start using the lists they got from the campaign.

In related news today I learned that iOS focus profiles can make it so you can filter which SMS senders cause my phone to beep.

I wasn’t very happy with the quality of the quick snapshot of my ghost pipes that I took while mowing yesterday. Today I did better.

The USFS has a concise description of how these herbaceous plants that lack chlorophyll survive.
