We got fibre internet hooked up last night and I ran speed tests against our old gigabit cable and immediately realized my home networking switch is maxed out at 100mbps. Oops.

So reading about the carbon tax and it’s not a fantastic policy but as a consumer knowing I get an annual rebate for it and the rest goes into grants for infrastructure is reassuring. However, until the Canadian government stops subsidizing the fossil fuel industry it won’t have much actual affect on the climate.

So I've finally made the move to #nixos on my personal laptop and everything is sick - except IPv4 DNS lookup constantly times out. Regardless of what DNS server I use (My ISP, Google, OpenDNS, Cloudflare) - but IPv6 has no problem at all.

Banging my head against the wall on this one.
