Don’t get all the hype around the Biden farewell speech and sympathy for him.

Truth is, if he’d announced that he wouldn’t run again in December, 2022, and enabled a good candidate to emerge, maybe. But geez, he screwed us by hanging on.

Prediction.

Trump years will be worse for the rest of the world than US and will see an expansion of the US empire.

Some likely targets include annexation of Greenland peacefully or not, control and de facto annexation of Baja and N. Mexico, and serious push to annex Canada. Certain other states as UK, Japan, and Australia will also probably move closer to autonomous colony status from the current de facto territory.

Also expect Israel to double in size with US backing, but this isn’t really much different from Biden policy.

In fact the imperial expansion has long been a neo-con and interventionist neo-lib dream. A majority of both parties support it. There is really no one in the world who can stop this either. Biden pretty well neutered Russia, China is nowhere near strong enough, and Europe is disunified.

Too early for post mortem, except to say it worked out exactly as many of us said in 2022 and early 2023. Namely, that Biden should have been a gracious one termer and have helped to create an honest contest for his successor. Instead he and the Democratic party hard headedly stood by him and then he dropped out at a late stage in the process. Stubborness, hubris, and whatever else.

In 2022 anyone with eyes and an open mind could see Biden wasn't fit and that he had deteriorated greatly from even 2021.

Will anything change in the Democratic Party? Probably not.

Back in Japan. Electioneering did not seem to help. The US White Folk are afraid and will likely go to Trump even more than in 2020. Guessing he'll get 65% of their vote.

Plus the Dems really fucked up by not replacing Biden in 2022 - 2023. Too little, too late.

House might go Dem, but Senate is gone based on what I've seen.

Today is #hiroshima day.

If you get a chance visit the memorial. It’s a great example of the #US way of war, that’s been repeated several times by US and #israel.

Saddest part to me was the remnants of elementary and junior high school kids’ uniforms. The kids were burned alive and all that was left were teeth, a few bones, and charred uniforms.

85% of Americans evidently believe frying babies alive is a good thing.

Why crapitalism, or at least the #US version, makes meaningful energy change nearly impossible.

Privatization has led to more and more rent seeking by power companies and major users.

Example is Diablo Canyon, a failed nuke plant. Now Californians will have to pay even more to keep it running. Nuke power, even the mini-plants is a bogus #techbro nightmare.

Primarily will be used to fuel even more bogus #crypto and #ai

Another example of how #capitalism is destroying the world. Its processes, contrary to state propaganda, move too slowly to adapt. A good example is noted in the attached article. In this case, insurance doesn’t allow farmers to use alternative methods of crop production and tillage. It ends up making the crop insurance worthless, but still required to get loans and even to buy equipment.
