MakerTube just got upgraded to version v6.3.0. Besides bug fixes and some UI/UX changes it brings the possibility of passing a separate proxy to Youtube channel synchronization. The next hardware expansion stage will add at least 100 Euros to the current monthly expenses. This is mainly a bigger storage node and backup space. This will use up the current reserves very quickly. I'm trying to keep operational costs at a minimum while ensuring a stable service but it has its limits.

I would like to be transparent on the financial situation of MakerTube so here is an overview of the donations so far. Currently technical costs are covered by the donations and there's even some buffer for future investments. BUT the average amount of donations per month has decreased compared to last year even though the amount of users has doubled since then. Luckily my estimate on storage utilization was very pessimistic and the current setup will hold for some more months. 1/3

A question: is there public interest in the Peertube setup and configuration of MakerTube? This is basically a bunch of helm charts and configuration files for a medium/large sized Peertube installation in a Kubernetes environment. That would mean some polishing and carving out of secrets to get this published. The traffic trend on MakerTube is clearly ongoing. Every month there are more videos served and traffic is increasing. I wonder when the physical limit of the machine (uplink, harddisk) at peak times is reached. Maybe I should start thinking about how to scale this out. #peertube #makertube #bandwidth

Some technical details on #MakerTube. I'm using #minio object storage for video storage and they finally fixed some memory leak in the latest version. This means no more unwanted restarts and interruptions on upload and playback.
