Is there a specific term for when you think up something original and after about 3 seconds of patting yourself on the back, you figure "That's definitely been thought of before" (probably many times), but then you resist web searching it to delay the inevitable disappointment?

Not cryptomnesia. More like confirmation avoidance, but nothing to do with bias.

I saw a toot yesterday about billionaires regarding dystopian fiction as a business plan rather than a warning. 💰

I started reading DUNE last night. While not a purely dystopian work, this passage resonated with that remark:
