We have uBlock/PiHole lists to block advertisements, scams, malware, gambling and so on... why don't we make lists for every piece of GenAI slop to clean the internet?

We could even use AI to detect AI slop, so that we wouldn't have to manually report ever-increasing amount of slop (but voting system would certainly be in place, much like SponsorBlock).

Why the hell is Intel using UART block from Synopsys in their SoCs? :akko_aaa:

It also looks like AMD, Marvell and various other RISC-V vendors use the same UART controller. On one side it makes sense, on the other… what?

(Protip: If you’re trying to use UART straight from SoC as platform UART, you need to add 8250_dw to initramfs, otherwise console doesn’t spawn - even if you add console=ttyS{4...8},115200 to kernel cmdline)

I'm so done with flashrom.

I just bricked yet another device.

Tried to restore stock backup I made beforehand... it doesn't boot because it's corrupted, despite flashrom verifying the image :neocat_facepalm:

Thankfully I should have much older backup somewhere on my personal workstation... but come on :neocat_scream:

I went to see an apartment (1/2 scheduled today).

40m2 (2 rooms), freshly renovated, has a balcony, fiber (!!!).

The only downside is that it's a bit far from the office (25 minutes by bus which comes every 30 minutes, 15 minutes by bike).

Area is quiet and seems peaceful (nothing's destroyed, well-maintained buildings, friendly people, there's even a public book exchange shelf in front of bus stop).

I'm trying to not get my hopes up... but I'm so hyped right now :ablobcatwobfast:
