still a little bit disappointed with the change to kde plasma's default icons

my mind doesn't really process the new monochrome ones, so each time i open the application launcher, instead of a quick glance to immediately end up where i need, i now have to spend several seconds just reading the individual labels

i know they're customizable but it feels less fun and less accessible by default

are there many programming languages where variables can be tied to time? e.g. forget value after N minutes, extend duration if needed

it's been such a common ask in my game development adventures, that it feels strange for it to be on me to implement (even if reusable)

a while ago @CatShark pointed me at an existing #Resonite item that installs itself into the avatar, and I finally got around inspecting its structure/protoflux – it doesn't lock the camera in place, but it achieves ability to override hand position/rotation by re-parenting Target from Right Hand Proxy to a custom slot.

I've added similar functionality to my unfinished plugin, and now the paws can actually be moved! or one paw! but it's a start. eventually I might try to add optional approximate symmetry to move them both, and likely a toggle between multiple directions that a paw can face

a little bit of survival

when asked how i'm doing, i'd use that phrase somewhat often in the past two years

hope all the munition drones were safely shot down today without any harm caused, frankly i lost count of the explosions but there were 20-30

i rarely share war updates as i don't want you to worry! on some days trying to stay safe and calm is the most i can do

hmm i need a 2D level design tool for roads/intersections, but only got so little energy and focus

if you've seen road editing in cities skylines – probably something like that. everything just magically connects on its own! + would be handy to have path/curve control points to adjust existing things

tried to implement mouse controls for freely moving the right pawb in #resonite

• can lock the camera view in place (with overrides), but haven't figured how to ensure moving mouse doesn't cause the character to turn around. "Set Head Facing Rotation" hackily prevents horizontal movement but not vertical

• much easier to figure how to move external objects (ghost pawbs yey) than tightly coupled slots controlling the avatar's hands. hand proxy's got cyan fields that refuse to network, user root right hand will cause you to respawn if a position drive is severed, and the IK is undergoing overhaul as we speak so I shouldn't rely on that
