I picked up a book in a different, grimmer genre (thriller) than I normally read (romance), and how do people only read these types of books? I'd be on edge all the time!
(This is only a judgment on my nervous system.)

He got laid off during the first Trump admin due to the "trade war" with China when the company could no longer manufacture in the US.

15th read of 2025:
Real Hero Shit by Kendra Wells
This is a fun adventure D&D-type coming-of-age tale. The art adds to the delight and humor. Eugene is a bored prince and tries to find his place by joining an adventure group. This felt like the beginning of a series.

Reminder: If you don't want to pay for that newspaper because editorial, CEOs, etc., are awful and harmful, but do find it sometimes necessary to read, get yourself a library card as many libraries give you access!

Wicked Abyss (Immortals After Dark #17) by Kresley Cole
Get yourself a Queen of Hell. She said, nope, I want the devil, not the pretty boy, in this Beauty & the Beast retelling.
Not an IAD to read if you haven't read the rest.

He/She/They: How We Talk About Gender and Why It Matters by Schuyler Bailar
This is a must-read for all cis people! (And some trans people too.) It is a very beginner's guide on being trans, thinking about gender, and current issues. Bailar is beyond kind and gentle with readers.

Escaping Peril (Wings of Fire #8) by Tui T. Sutherland
The last 1/3 of this was great, and it felt like the arc was finally taking off and going in a new and exciting direction. Wings of Fire are great middle readers to share with the young people in your life! 📚
