I spent 2 hours looking for a digital copy of an old car photo then finally just went to the source and found the print but I found a more suitable one too for it's purpose. Seems like I only have 4 photos of that car. It was a different world before digital photos. Here's the one I knew I had.

I've spent a long time as a firefighter on all types of calls at any time of the day or night on any day of the year. A story came out of all my thoughts one night that recalls some of the things that have made me look at life from a different perspective. Since I don't have one, here is a long introduction 2 years late.

I saw someone on irc mention David Lynch had died. I watched through all these interviews when they were posted back up on the 15th anniversary. #DavidLynch had an eye for things most people will never see and I'd guess a lot of these interviews represent that in people where it shows more easily.

Slowly getting my first blog post edited. I added a bit that was missing, took a little bit out too. I think it's a good read but a flood of memories of all feelings. It's long but it's a bit of what set the stage and how it played out for me as a firefighter. No pictures, just words. Here's a picture of some of those words in the current draft.

Typed up 3500 words so I guess I'll have to share it eventually somewhere.

It's a bit of reflection on my life. The good times and beyond with firefighting and on to the darkness and figuring myself out in the last year and trying to figure out how to help people again.

I was just going to type some thoughts down and it turned into a story. I'll read it and see if it's any good later today when I wake up.

I was wondering what to have for dinner and remembered there's some clam chowder in the freezer. I see the thin type is traditional from the Canadian maritime provinces which I suppose makes sense since part of me comes from PEI. Sometimes I'll thicken it for leftovers but it's always made thin here. A heel of sourdough bread and a sourdough crumpet toasted to go along with it.

When you actually fine tune the moon math and the year length number to compensate for leap years you guestimated was close enough be less than a quarter phase of moon. 🤓 (and you don't have to edit it again)

The 1988 Honda CBR600F Hurricane. This was the second one of these I had bought. It was 20 years old then. Needed a fuel pump and the carbs cleaned to get it running, then I repaired and repainted all the broken plastic. It ran a lot better than the first one. A little small for me but it's not like you're riding one of these for days. Had it a year, maybe two.

And just like that, a cheap keyboard, plus hourly, is now an expensive keyboard. Includes spit shine on the keys too.

This is nice and clicky but it's still quieter than the previous and WAY quieter than the roccat with blue switches that the keys clunk when they bottom out. I love that thing but I can't type worth a damn on it with the built in palm rest.

I got around to watering the tray of plants in the basement and saw some flowers. It was mid-October when I potted up all the volunteer verbena and one Marconi pepper plant. The verbena doesn't mind the cold, the pepper plant is just maintaining life.
