In my mind, there's a kind of sweet spot for any piece of time-bounded art. Music, books, TV shows, audio dramas, whatever. And that sweet spot is: You crave more, but if there had been more, the work would have been worse.

Thinking about how, when I was trying to pick a Christian denomination, I decided on Catholicism of all things.

I keep dreaming about a hypothetical horror movie trilogy where they're all like really excellent and I love them despite hating horror, but they're also like 6 hours long each. But the worldbuilding is fascinating and the story is gripping, and possibly seeing the movie makes the monster show up in your real life? Very weird thing to have as a recurring feature in a dream though.

Oh. Trump isn't Hitler 2.0. Elon Musk is. Just like Hitler he was never elected, but rather given a position due to his influence, Hitler's influence being because he was the leader of the growing Nazi party and Musk's influence because he's a billionaire with a large fanbase. Hitler used that position to seize control of the government indirectly.

The DOGE thankfully doesn't seem to have as much power as the German Chancellor did, but it seems like all it would really take is a few clever moves for Musk's unofficial powers to become official, and an "unfortunate accident" to make them absolute.
