Just before the election it was dead, though. Like, really tumbleweeds rolling dead. Right now it's... Weird.

Oh, it was because I haven't clicked through some tutorial on the phone of some feature that I never asked for.

I clicked through it. I don't know what the feature was.

The web version is now also fixed.

Someone decided to drive me and my zero-inbox obsession mad:

The "Threads" section in Slack always shows one unread message.

Software engineering is weird.

I didn't know how to do a thing, so I googled it, which led me to stackoverflow, and of course the answer was obvious, so I tried it, then I ran tsc and it just worked.

And now for whatever reason I have this feeling inside like I'm some kind of Typescript god 🤷‍♂️

The generic approach to any migration is as follows:

  1. Wherever you're writing data - start writing it in both shapes, but continue reading only in the old shape

  1. Perform data migration to make sure that both shapes contain the same contents

  1. Start reading from the new shape everywhere (but continue writing both)

  1. Stop writing old shape

  1. Perform data migration to clean up the old shape

You can't really take shortcuts or skip/rush steps.

Nah, not going to have even a "shallowly concerned", cause the Latvian cable wasn't really that deep.

Imagine the world where things do not get magically fixed by turning them off and on again.

All in all, I've probably spent more time trying to get my Roomba to reconnect to wifi than it has spent cleaning.

We've changed some labels in the app and this broke like half of dashboards in Grafana.

Why is shifting the testing of this left not a solved problem?

Here I am, sitting in a meeting room with some reasonably dressed middle aged white males at the round table wondering "where's the 'Raise hand' button?"

Grand prize 🎉

The new air-side feels cramped (I guess things will feel differently once it's all connected up), but overall - it's more pleasant than the old departures area.

No place to leave the luggage/coat when washing hands.

Baby room looks neat. No children playing area though. Makes sense - flying is for childless white men.

The land-side is amazing now. The old terminal feels like stone age. The security checks area is also very spacious, although I'm sure it will fill up soon (yay, economy 📈).

It will also fill up, because the new security scanners seem smarter. And smart things cause... Eh... Smart problems. E.g. the empty trays need to be fed back one-by-one, and if a helpful passenger stacks them to get the queue moving - someone needs to unstack them manually.
