They've arrived! #jetkvm #kickstarter

Why's DeepSeek trending today? Did the world only just wake up to the stories published about it 2 weeks ago, or did sobering else happen? It was at least a week ago I was fighting with getting Torch up and running to get the demo up

G&T time. After this week - the kind that only comes around once every couple of decades - I don't need a drink - I need a whole fucking distillery

VINDRIKTNINGs have arrived! These are the super-cheap 3 colour LED ones, so no ZigBee built in. Not to worry, ESP boards on standby!

Unfortunately, it looks like Masto doesn't support animated GIFs. But you know where it's going.

While searching for gifs to express my thoughts in a Teams chat about a particular explanation, I think these are the two best candidates: Ken Jeong and David Mitchell

Hmm #immich appears to have crapped itself? There's over 50,000 photos and videos in there, bub. They were there yesterday...

So, out of the box it looks like the default #konnected firmware is a bit stale and no longer actively developed. They encourage you to go ESPHome instead.
Having flashed the default ESPHome konnected recipe to my (non-pro) alarm board, it's basic and pretty much depends on #homeassistant for all of its smarts.
Seems like if I want the alarm to keep functioning even when HA is down, Imma need some scripting smarts injected into my yamls.. e.g. "wait 30 seconds after a sensor trips before firing off the alarm, unless it's disarmed first".
Sound about right?

Ooo I just received an #SDR as a birthday present from some mates. What to do first with it?

Ooo, and there's a #zigbee2mqtt V2 release that I've missed too. Yeah, next update is going to need a whole lot of time

So on the one hand, it looks like #homeassistant 2024.12 may fix the dreaded #frigate card replay issue. On the other, it potentially breaks templates, statistics, #qnap , #glances and #brother integrations. I'm on the road in 2 days. Might sit this one out until I'm less time-compressed. I can always replay Frigate captures from it's web UI in a pinch

Just watched #conclave . Brilliant movie, great build up, acting, cinematography and sound and I definitely didn't pick the ending.
I'm not remotely Catholic, but this was riveting

Looks like #immich finished importing 22 years of photos overnight. There's still 60,000 jobs queued though, presumably for face matching, transcoding etc. That'll probably take another day or so, at which point my poor little N5105 can take a breather.

Dammit. Misplaced my keys again.
I really should get some trackers for them. Does #homeassistant work with any of the brands? I thought that Tile would be a sure-fire winner but there's no API for it so doesn't seem to be a way to trigger the beeper.
What are my alternatives that I can integrate via HA without the need for an extra app on our (Android) phones?

40+'ers and over - do you still seek out new career adventures? Or have you decided to just keep doing what you're good at?
I've never really settled into one thing too long for fear of getting stale. And I'm struggling with the idea that this may be happening now.
On the other hand I really hate interviewing, and it would be nice to put the imposter syndrome aside for a while.
