Nooooo the possum ate all of my jalepenos. Even the babies. Any tips for mentally coping? #GardeningAu

Must say I'm enjoying this #spendingstrike discussion*. Lazy environmentalism with a side of spite, however small the impact. And a bit of fun to for crafty types with low standards like myself.

I'm going to assume you lot are less feral/more socially presentable than me though - so please continue to keep the local produce swap, repair cafe, landcare and buy-nothing groups alive! :)

Newfound respect to people out there stealing copper; bolt cutters are hard work.

That's the second time we've had a baby water dragon in the house. He is dusty because he hid under the couch. #suburbanwildlife

  1. The almost clover. Has little yellow flowers, and might be a weed.

  1. Native commelina. Its geared for Brisbane, and it shows. Downside is its liable to get into the garden beds, and being a little taller (30cm), can hide weeds. May take over.

  1. Clover. A standard rec from the cooler climes. Likes the shade, but its not a summer creature - barely visible at the moment. I'm sure it'll be back.

Stuff thats growing in our 'lawn replacement' area after 2 years; the photo series nobody asked for. (1 of 9)

I haven't seen much about how people realitically go with 'lawn replacement' mid-longer term, let alone in brisbane so...

Note we've had plenty of rain and generally let plants fight it out for dominance. This area never really had lawn. 3 years ago there was a freestanding (trip hazard) deck, concrete tiles, astroturf and and a sickly tree.

I'm glad I randomly decided to tap on the gas tank, and then check why a confused wasp appeared, before we called some unfortunate boc guy out for a empty swap! #suburbanwildlife

Anyone with experience doing computer repairs at a repair cafe? What sort of problems do folk bring in?

I do sewing repairs at my local, but sometimes its quiet and wondering if I should branch out. We dont get a lot of PCs/laptops brought in, but I don't know if that is because weve never advertised. My skills are pretty basic, but no worse than my sewing!

Just a little hesitant from my early 2000s stint of trying to de-malware lawyers personal pcs.

The ill-advised native raspberry (Rubus mollucanus) we've been training up a fence has started flowering. Two years in. Its absolutely covered a few metres of fence, despite aggressive pruning wherever it touches the ground. Angry angry bush.

Really struggled to find time to fruit or season info for that one, since mostly I think Rubus probus is more popular. Well now I know :)

Good backyard wildlife rating today: A butcherbird decided to join/guilt trip me for lunch (its not bug, you wouldn't like it!) and then I saw a blue tongue lizard creeping though leaf litter (only the second ive spotted here).

I don't know what tomato type this is (I got a mix to see what takes); its a small bush that seems to put on multiple determinate flushes. It crops, all the leaves die, I cut back to a stem, then it grows back. This is part of crop #3. I'm gonna grow some more, its amazing to find a productive non-cherry type.
