OK here's where I have trouble bending my mind around the Fediverse...I'm currently using Mastodon and if I follow the right hashtags, I can see posts come in from Pixelfed...but if I wanted to use a Pixelfed client, I'd need to make an account on a Pixelfed server?

@DawnLandes@threads.net does something remarkable in The Liberated Woman’s Songbook. Landes and her band take the laments of the 1800s to the anthems of the ’70s and make them of a piece. Especially in light of the repeal of Roe v. Wade, the march for personhood depicted in these songs feel especially poignant. This isn’t an account of frustrated dreams, though: rather it is one of unflagging faith.

You know when you hear a great song and it feels a bit like falling head over heels in love for the first time? I was right there with Carsie Blanton’s After the Revolution. Blanton shows us that the revolution doesn’t have to be fiery zeal: instead, it’s about holding out hope and taking it all in stride, even when things seem bleak.
