⭐ Is Google spamming its customers in a PR campaign?

▪️ SUBJECT LINE:

"Take action: protect your business against potentially costly state regulations"

▪️ Google emails are purportedly "to inform you about potential changes to your Google account."

▪️They continue:

"Lawmakers in state capitals across the country are proposing regulations that could make it harder and more expensive for you to reach customers online."

▪️ If you sign up:

"(Google will let me know about legislative and regulatory issues, events and advocacy opportunities related to my business.)"

⭐ Very questionable that this is legitimately an informational email for users about potential changes to accounts per TOS.

👉🏽 It looks like a PR campaign.👈🏽

My keyboard is occasionally lagging on my computer lately (few weeks).

Solution: I close one tab (gmail) and everything runs smoothly afterwards.

Over 3GB of RAM is released.

INFO

▪️ Ubuntu 22.04

▪️ Firefox ESR

▪️ 32GB RAM

Gmail is in its own container and I have standard add-ons (uBlock Origin / Privacy Badger / Multi-Account Containers).

These processes disappear when I close gmail:

▪️ 1307.82MB firefox-bin

▪️ 1815.01MB firefox-bin

⭐ I don't care that the memory is used. I care that the keyboard is lagging. I would prefer keeping my email tab open. I am too reliant on google to move to something else right now.

❓ Is google doing something differently lately?

🐦 The birds are especially active today, politely waiting their turn to eat. There are three feeders for the birds, one for the squirrels.

It is difficult to do much more than watch them as they fly from station to station. Their queues and patterns are fascinating.

It is taking forever to type this.
