I had to have The Talk with my offspring last night. You know the one, every parent dreads it. You think there'll always be a better time to discuss it later, so you put it off, until one day, you realise they've grown up so fast, and it's too late.

Sure, macros might increase the cognitive load required to make certain modifications to a codebase, but I'll take that over the need to change 14 different places every time I need to add a column to a table.
