also just bums me out to see thrift store racks overrun with shein selling for over the original price. I know fast fashion isn’t new, but secondhand not being able to compete with prices new feels newer and bad in every way

trying to buy less petroleum-based products has really opened my eyes to how pervasive they are in clothing—polyester, nylon, acrylic, pvc / vegan “leather”, spandex, etc. even spendier brands like everlane will sell something with cotton in the name to have the tag reveal it’s 30% nylon.
