I cancelled my WaPo subscription when Bezos decided the paper would not make an endorsement for Harris.

I now expect an invitation to subscribe again. But Jeff Bezos couldn’t pay me to resubscribe to his Riveting Storytelling. I want facts and in-depth reporting. And a brave position in the face of a plutocracy.

In de week dat het kabinet een crisisteam samenstelde vanwege een RvS uitspraak over stikstof, besloot BBB-leider Caroline van der Plas Kamervragen te stellen over uitspraken van een fictief personage in een dramaserie.

Hierdoor dringt zich wel een ­wrange symboliek op: Den Haag dat zich in fictie verliest, ­terwijl daarbuiten echte mensen echte levens proberen op te bouwen, zonder van datzelfde Den Haag de hulp te krijgen die ze nodig hebben.

Groot alarm in Nederland over dreigend drinkwater tekort. Opvoeren van productie en versnellen vergunningen zou de oplossing zijn.

Besparing wordt wel genoemd maar concrete plannen ontbreken.

Onze zuiderburen zijn slimmer:

Opvang van regenwater is in veel gevallen verplicht. Te gebruiken om toiletten door te spoelen, kledij te wassen, woning of auto schoon te maken en de tuin te sproeien.

Very insightful thoughts in this article.

There are high expectations of what politics can do, while there is an underestimation of the danger of authoritarianism. Not voting can therefore be the result of disappointment and looking away from the consequences if a would-be dictator wins.

In the US this seems to be the case during the last elections. Trump did not win but Harris lost, so to speak.

But there remain more questions than answers.
