TLDR: contact Microsoft Sales close to your subscription ending and they should be able to put you on Classic:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/business/sales-support#

So, I received the #Microsoft notice that my personal plan would be increasing in price and including the AI as default. There were reports overseas of being able to select a "classic" plan option which didn't include AI, but this wasn't visible to me.

Support chat used Quick Assist to remote into my computer (!) to verify that the Classic option was not available to me, but were unable to help.

After a couple of Support chats, I was finally put in touch with the Sales team, and advised that because I cannot do it myself, they can change it now, but I'd lose the remaining months left on my plan (8 months)!

So their advice is to contact them when the plan is expiring and they will do it then. A pain in the arse, but a potential workaround.

I asked why the Classic option was not available to me, and they claimed it's because of region restrictions (the classic plan is only available in Australia, NZ, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand - I am in Australia), because my subscription type was not a Personal plan (it is), or a technical issue.

And definitely not because Microsoft want to keep people paying inflated prices for services they don't want.

Managed to self-draft a sewing machine cover, obtain wadding for free, align the pieces, and construct it. All by myself! And even better, the machine fits inside it!

Just need to do bias binding for the edges now. Unfortunately, bias binding is my nemesis and I am dreading this.

Might also consider a firmer construction form for the vertical edges (cardboard? plastic?) but not completely necessary.

Currently having flashbacks to January 2020 when I developed #AdultOnsetAsthma as a result of #BlackSummer #bushfire (and probably from my old mouldy house). I still suffer #asthma (mildly) occasionally and foresee a wheezy night for me.

Cool change arriving to inner Melbourne suburbs is good, but the smoke smell is very, very not good. #weather #bushfire

[#]AFLW made such a big thing of #Auslan #interpreters at the finals - but I haven't seen anything interpreted on TV tonight for the #AFLGF. Given the experience in-ground a few weeks ago, I imagine it's not perfect for people there (if it's there at all).

Locking up my #EBike outside a bar, and a man (50-60 years old) is getting on his motorbike just next to me. I fear the worst as he opens his mouth.

But he says, "That looks very fancy" about my #bike and asks how it is to ride.

Despite hearing of people being told they're "lazy" for riding e-bikes by random strangers, I've heard (so far) only compliments, curiosity and excitement. #cycling

Amazing to have #Auslan interpreter at #AFLW finals. Poor in ground experience to have them not on the screen each time there is speech... #NorthMelbourne #Adelaide

Specialist doctor earlier in the year: I suggest you try this med for a little while, and if that doesn't show any results, contact reception and I'll send you a script for this other med

Specialist doctor now: well I haven't seen you for months, so I won't prescribe anything, go see your GP

So...why bother contacting the specialist? Now I have to wait another 4 weeks to see my GP and get the next medication to try.

Only one aggressive close pass (followed by the driver swerving across to the furthest lane from me). Suppose I should be grateful that's all.

Checked #GoogleMaps in case there was a better way to cycle to where I was going. It directed me down #PuntRoad (one of the busiest roads, with many buses and trucks, very not cycling friendly).

Lucky I know where I'm going and alternative routes, even if they were almost as bad.

Last week: maybe I do have too many containers and empty jars and need to clear out?

Today: welp, there's a mouse in my kitchen. Thank fuck I can transfer everything from bags/packets into containers and jars.
