Trump is 40 away from win
Harris 66 away
both have shot
I now have zero confidence which way it will break
I am shocked Trump won Iowa given that Selzer poll showing huge margins by women and for Harris, esp in old white women

Harris shrinking gap with Trump in GA as more of the high pop blsck urban precincts finish counting. And cuz of the bomb threats they extended hours

The nice thing about the terrifying Red Mirage period of US election night is that when it ends its also close to the ceiling on Trump EC votes.
After that its mostly Harris votes that add in.
And strong evidence Harris will exceed 270 by big margin!

if you voted for Trump in 2016 I can understand it and will give you a pass if you flipped to Biden and Harris from then on
If you voted for Trump in 2020 the nicest thing I could say about you is "low info voter" or low IQ due to congenital brain defects.
If you vote for Trump in 2024 you are just a terrible person and, yes, should be shunned by good people.

After election is over & we see Harris into office, hopefully, there are many TODOs left on our collective plates
One set revolve around why the 2016 election was so damn close
& 2020 was too close
& 2024 is shaping up to be so damn close again
cuz a reasonable person find it pretty damn counter-intuitive given the relative objective merits of the candidates
suspect many reasons adding up
one is that while Dem policies are better & they govern better... Libs/Woke/DEI repulse huge numbers

Google Maps told me it was an 18 minute walk from a certain point A to B. I was skeptical but I trusted them.
I set off on foot, and it felt like it was taking forever.
About 1 hour later, my feet killing me, sunburned etc, I go into a little fast food place along the way to check progress.
I was LESS THAN HALFWAY there.
I double and triple checked that Maps had Walking selected and showed the little pedestrian icon.
Google is becoming a deeply broken company. At least in terms of UX QoS.

I see this type of popup prompt on websites more and more. Asking you to make a supposed "choice" with buttons saying like:
Pro-tip to the jerks who show that type of thing to your site visitors: its like giving them the option between:
Its no real choice. Not unless you offer at least this as a 3rd option:

I chose well in advance to NOT live in a fricken hurricaine zone.
Will FEMA give me $750 cash injections too?
One of the things we ought to improve about gov in the US. Decide if we're collectively rich or poor. And whether we want to treat everyone the same or give only special handouts to niche groups based on currying political favor.

Yes, I want a free "pirate" copy, heh. Yes, I already own the physical book. In Shirer's case around 3 times over my life:
Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. by William Shirer
Battle Cry of Freedom. by James McPherson

Ever been in a US restaurant with like 20 tables & seating for 100+ and yet there is precisely one table/seat that has a power outlet?
And you enter that restaurant.
And you need to use that outlet.
And there are people sitting (ONLY) at that table.
Right next to the ONLY outlet.
AND THEY ARE NOT USING THE OUTLET!
Instead they're just gabbing, gabbing away. (NOTE: not even eating or drinking.)
What Americans are like!
What goes on in their brains?
Is it same type who bring in screamers?
