It looks me a long time to finally discover Author & Punisher, but I am really digging his stuff, especially Incinerator:

From Chris Crawford, A Gathering of Game Design Wizards:
https://youtu.be/UQ6XCCuqRy0
Episode 1 (of 5 so far), "This is the first hour of a meeting in June 2024 of twelve of the brightest people who helped drive the video game industry throughout its history. For two days we chatted, gossiped, argued, joked, and shared our thoughts in the past and future of the games industry."

Wow, D&D as a license continues to be hot!
Stern just revealed Dungeons & Dragons The Tyrant's Eye pinball:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LszrgZ_zxE
The pinball-spitting dragon is the star gimmick, but the weekly dungeon layouts are brilliant! Excited to dig into how the progression system will work; if the layout is fun, this could be a great long-term pin. (1/3)

After 84 years, I finally finished 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. For me, it was a slow burn that got better the further I progressed through the game.
Story was enjoyable scifi anime, art was beautiful. RTS bits were fun but didn't get enough love: difficulty was tuned too easy (I achieved S rank on every mission and I'm bad at video games) and some of the mechanics were superfluous.
Next in catching up with Vanillaware, Unicorn Overlord!

Twitch plays pachinko:
https://www.twitch.tv/wibbix
From wibbix, a vintage pachinko rigged up to a launch mechanism with point tracking. To play, enter a number from 0-100 in chat. This number represents how far to pull back the launch handle. 0 == low, 100 == max.

The Saturn has some real gems! Panzer Dragoon series, Nights into Dreams, Policenauts, a ton of great shmups, Bomberman is nuts with the right hardware and a crowd… any other recommendations for @Newmy?

still not buying that tho.

An Amazon product listing filled with bullshit photoshopped usage is one of my pet peeves, and I actively choose not to buy things illustrated that way, but sometimes the photoshopping is so bad that it becomes art.

I've got an urge to set up a pull list at a comic book store. It's been, I dunno, a couple decades since I've done that, but the idea of having something new and tactile and pretty to read every month is enticing.
Saga just restarted, but I've got the rest of the series in the big books, so I'm gonna wait on that one.
Back in the day my regulars were Vertigo titles (especially Shade), TMNT, misc indies, and the very occasional cape comic.
Any recommendations for a new-again reader?

I was at the grocery store today and a lady was putting a box of Wednesday cereal into her cart and she caught me watching and said “I had to try it,” and I replied “haha I wonder if it turns your water black?” and now it’s 2am and I’m laying in bed wondering if that lady thinks I eat my cereal with water now.

Wait does Rez count as #RetroGaming now? Oh God I'm old.

Hey game history sleuths! Help the Video Game History Foundation identify this video game illustration by artist Lee MacLeod. Based on where it was found it is believed to be a Namco title, likely from the early 90s, but they can't figure out which.

No luck in the 1980 Sears Christmas catalog, although they did have a different knockoff, and nothing in that genre at all in that year's Montgomery Ward.
JCPenney DID have it in their 1980 catalog for twenty-two bucks, right under the Star Trek: The Motion Picture action figures.
A year later it was gone, never to be seen again (well, at least in a successive catalog through 1982), replaced by the venerable Vertibird.
