The paradox of ending up ahead by jogging in place. After all the nonsense Microsoft is doing, Libre might well be the better option soon (despite the confusing UI)

In all fairness, the biggest fault of "Joker: Folie a deux" is hearing people butcher the word "deux" again and again.

Misfits, ‘Walk Among Us’ (1982)

I know the band and their image since my friends covered "Last Caress" with their bands after Metallica played it at the MTV Awards, but I never listened to the albums.

Overall, a fun surf/rockabilly/garage companion to the Ramones. Good for the mix despite the samey songs

(Wow, these early bands sound QUIET compared to the hyper-compression we got used to later)

Keep: I Turned, All Hell, Hatebreeders, Skull, Astro Zombies,

Paramore, ‘Riot!’ (2007)

I... guess I fell in love from the first song? I always had a soft spot for female-led bands (like the Interrupters) but this is good. Only concern: will they go too poppy/Disney?

epit: nope, they kick ass

Blink-182, ‘Dude Ranch’ (1997)

I once read how according to a study your listening habits crystalize around the age of 25. That's when your brain encodes a certain type of sounds to the dopamine centers. That's why the music of your youth literally feels better for us.

If that's true, we're in pure dopamine hacking here: I don't really care much for theses songs, but the frequencies are Just Right.

Keep: Pathetic, Damnit, Enthused

Buzzcocks, ‘Singles Going Steady’ (1979)

I must have had this copied on a cassette in the 90s, because I do remember some of these songs.

It must have been their first album, because I like the first three songs in this "best of" and increasingly dislike them the further I go.

I guess I'm just not keen on the new wave sounds creeping up in the latter part of these original punk bands...

This was a surprisingly successful experiment. Of course, I don't get the same attachment to these tunes I would get from "my" albums, but it feel like a personal radio. And yes, I guess most normal people get that from Spotify, but this is how I listen to music, so...

In Roman times, Ceasar crossing the river Rubicon was such a momentous event to enter in common parlance.

After Rome fell, it was so irrelevant people actually lost track of WHERE the Rubicon is. It was "rediscovered" in 1933 and renamed back Rubicon from its medieval name... "Fiumicino" (lil' river)

That's to say how people will stop caring about anything if you give them enough time. Chill.

For context: Hanno's sento is near the station. It's visibly old but clean and good value for the price (you even get free towels).

But you can tell that The Last Fuck was given 30 years ago, and it's been peaceful gliding ever since.

Only two fees, adults and kids, because upsells are tiring

You forgot the code for the locker? No biggie, the owner will just come upstairs with the key oozing Chill.

And they might not even show up for the payment. Maybe leave it in the cup, or pay later. WHATEVER

Gotta love my barber 😀

We literally exchanged only two words during the whole cut & shave: "ohayou" at the beginning and "doumo" at the end.

He didn't even ask me the length, he already knows ♥️

Tofu quiche: success 4/5

Pretty much a "whatever you got in the fridge" stew, blended with soft tofu and laid over a dead simple crust. Very solid lunchtime fare.
