12:00 back from Oliveira -- 60 k round-trip -- tough, tough utility sprint for an oldie, ahead of days of difficult weather; left early to beat rain on Atlantic weather front from west, but instead got baths of freezing air full of cold-diesel fumes and woodburner clag with ground frost in all the ravines. So much for 8 deg C in my niche! No leaning the bike over on the melting tarmac hairpins today!
Coupled with which, low-key immune system battle going on in body, virus-like aches. Rather than sulk in bed, had decided to burn it up. Needed foods I didn't have for the battle. Not much burning tho', despite pushing hard - gloves off and hands under armpits a couple of times, as no feeling for controls. Prone to whitefinger anyway.
But made it back without rain which, irritatingly, didn't begin till 2-3 hours after either of the higher-res models predicted; ARPEGE [FR] had nicely modelled the coast winds pushing back on the front more like the radar later showed, but ICON-EU [DE] - which didn't - was not so far-ahead on timing.
Highlight of the trip? On the East horizon, perfectly fitted, discrete, matching umbrellas of cloud above several of the peaks of Parque Natural de Serra Estrela leaving the peaks themselves clearly visible, but below the altostratus; nothing like lenticular but no idea of the precise name. My hands couldn't hold a device to get a pic!

Considering that #misinformation and #disinformation are high on these lists, tracking down just /whose/ opinions these are in this #WEF graphic which comes to me thanks to @petergleick is surprisingly convoluted. Surely, the best way to verify is to find the sources. "Trust us, we know best" is dubious whoever says it.
Here's as far as I am now - "Overview of methodology" in [1] below says "This year’s GRPS has brought together leading insights on the evolving global risks landscape from 1,490 experts across academia, business, government, the international community and civil society" -- and below that, -- "Appendix B: Global Risks Perception Survey 2024-2025 provides more detail on the methodology." [2]
The nitty-gritty of this is that "Survey responses were collected from 2 September to 18 October 2024 from the World Economic Forum’s multistakeholder communities." BUT IT GIVES NO SPECIFICS ON WHO THEY ARE OR HOW THEY ARE INVITED TO TAKE PART. HOWEVER -- breakdowns are given in the graphic linked in the next post 🧵

Robin* poop is the biggest enemy of my panel output. Any cleaning agent has the same effect as well as water - spreading it around as a uniform layer. But hold on, smoothed robin-poop is almost like chalk-based household cleaner - helps removes the other more botanical film. Buffing soon with a damp cloth [rainwater] is the key.
Apart from robins, the biggest hit on my panel output the last few clear days has been jet #vapourTrails. Any advice on how to clean them up very welcome. |;-/
