And I'm back in Chicago :)
Getting off the plane at O'Hare doesn't quite have the same "welcome home" feel as the Madison, WI airport, but it'll do for the time being.
I really can't wait to get back to my cat. I've traveled quite a bit over the last month and I really miss her after this last trip for a while.

Flying back to Chicago today. I had a really good time (including going to Chama Mama for Georgian food), but I'm looking forward to getting back home to my cat :)

Two days into my stay here, and already the "I want to live here" drive is fading.

Back in NYC for the first time since I moved away in early 2022.
I can already feel the pull of the city again, but I'm going to get to a pretty comfortable place in Chicago before I entertain moving elsewhere again.

What's going on, @bitwarden?
The recent UI revision for the browser plugin (at least on Firefox on Linux) is very clunky and feels cramped.
It's becoming a significant point of friction in my day-to-day computing and has me beginning to consider a different password manager.

Tangential to this, I'd like to see if I can grow my @bookwyrm network and meaningfully engage with the platform and community.

Three of those are just areas of study/work I'd like to focus on.
With "Sensibility," I want to try to be more disciplined and realistic about what I can comfortably do. I've had a tendency for as long as I can remember to get really excited about a lot of things, spread myself way too thin, and end up feeling like I haven't accomplished anything.

I'm coming up with this as I go, so my apologies that this isn't well-formed, lol.
In no particular order, the "themes" I have in mind are:
Sensibility
Information Theory
Linux Internals
Rust

I gave up on New Year's resolutions a long time ago, but since November of this year I've changed jobs and moved to a new city and with the new year approaching I'd like to establish some aspirational "themes" for 2025.

About to hop on a plane back to Chicago after seeing family in Texas for the last week. It was nice to gorge on chips, queso, and margaritas :)

In DFW in a car with my sister, headed home from the airport.
I can't wait to gorge myself on Tex-Mex a few times while I'm here.

On about this again, but what drew me to WASD Keyboards was that I could get a black keyboard with no branding or nonsense.
With them seemingly vanishing, are there any other vendors that offer something like that?

I don't necessarily have a problem with ads in apps, but once you start playing a video with sound which I can't dismiss outside of closing the app, it's rendered unusable in my very angry opinion.
I am quite happy to pay for apps to support developers and it's quite frustrating when there's no option to pay (one time or subscription) to avoid wildly obstructive ads.
