When someone makes a good point but presents it with a slight inaccuracy in phrasing, I get stuck on it. Then I remember I’m autistic. And it doesn’t help me get unstuck.
I’m not perfect either and it takes me a long time to phrase things because I care about accuracy and minimizing harm. I understand that imperfection is necessary in order to move somewhere AND I wish more people chose words more carefully

A driver tried to hit me today.
Maybe that's not true - maybe they weren't looking. Maybe they didn't realize that a left arm pointing left signals a left turn. Maybe they don't understand why the traffic law says not to pass at intersections. Maybe they think accelerating into an intersection where they have a stop sign is a good idea.
You are putting lives at risk every time you get behind a steering will. If it's raining, drive slower because visibility in the rain sucks. I always use lights and wear high vis jackets in the rain. It's not that you can't see me, it's that you don't care about my life.
Want to prove that you care about lives? Don't drive. Chances are that you do, so drive slower. Follow traffic safety laws. Be kind to cyclists. Disable reckless drivers' vehicles...

my insurance website is claiming that the drug i’ve been on for years to manage a chronic condition - which has been available to me through this insurance company for three years - isn’t covered. Is there any chance of this not being a glitch? Do I need to find a lawyer?

You can reduce your use of (internalized) misogyny by changing your default
• When making up a story or post, create women/girl protagonists
• When consuming a story about someone with an unspecified gender, notice who you imagine them as. Challenge your default.
Oppression lives in language. Replace “misogyny” with another form of oppression, “woman/girl” with the target of that form of oppression, “unspecified gender” with a term inclusive of all people

Most trans people have experienced gender dysphoric care. The healthcare someone receives can affect their self perception. I was ambivalently agender - neither cis nor trans seemed to fit - before receiving my diagnosis. When medication started changing my body (if I had been cis, it would have been gender affirming care) I felt wrong. I went from ambivalently agender to angrily agender

People often talk about gender confirming care. I want people to know about gender dysphoric care. If your body is young and isn’t producing sex hormones and you don’t have a gender, any care is gender dysphoric. The best you can hope for is a doctor who accepts your lack of gender and is willing to adjust hormone doses until you are kind of ok

I just came across these testimonies of trans and genderqueer people with #PCOS and it is not at all the same as #POI but it sure does feel like I’m less alone in my struggles reading these. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this article https://helloclue.com/articles/cycle-a-z/what's-it-like-to-have-pcos-when-you're-trans

I got T bc my doc told me I could be on an androgen if estrogen wasn’t working out. They worked with me to find the right dose for me, and checked in with me about the dysphoria I felt while on feminizing drugs without anything to balance the feminization. T isn’t known to take away the side effects of E, which begs the q: were the side effects psychosomatic? Did my body stop fighting synthetic hormones bc they started validating my lack of gender?

I never identified completely as a woman, but I still used she/her pronouns when I was introduced to the idea of pronouns bc I didn’t consider myself trans (tbh cis didn’t feel right either). When (unbeknownst to me) my ovaries stopped releasing regular eggs I started including they/them when asked for pronouns. I dropped she/her around the time I was diagnosed and started HRT. Being on estrogen sucks so I take testosterone. It relieves all physical side effects

Please #Boost this.
I don’t usually talk about #PrimaryOvarianInsufficiency but I have it and apparently it affects 1 in 1000 “women” (i’m guessing it means people with ovaries but I didn’t perform the study so I don’t know) under 30 and 1% under 40. I want to converse with folks about how #POI and HRT affects gender and sexual identity and mood, and also experiences of diagnosis process. Feel free to message me if you don’t want to talk on the open fediverse
