Looked for things I need … They weren’t included in the exclusions, but they were excluded.

The US #polio epidemic peaked in 1952: 57,000+ cases, 3,145 died and 21,269 were left with paralysis.

Dr. Jonas #Salk developed a polio vaccine in 1955. (At one point in the #1950s survey respondents found him more recognizable in this country than Dwight #Eisenhower.)

Within two decades, domestic transmission of polio was wiped out in the #US.

Polio never reached natural herd immunity, it was eradicated by #vaccines.

During election cycles #political scientists talk about the utility of #endorsements (tl;dr probably not much). #CommTheory, specifically agenda setting theory, implies much the same.

Yet, in an age where we are concerned about trust in institutions, endorsements have an important cultural role.

That’s what we’re talking about right now, maintaining the ability to have that ability, to demonstrate its value, if not it’s very virtue.
