@BBCRadio4 why is the Today programme referring to protests planned for tonight? Riots, yes; assaults, yes; crimes, yes - but "protests" gives them a legitimacy they do not deserve

The first time I've had Captain Hook, Widow Twankey and the Wicked Witch in a funeral congregation...

Commending to God our friend Trevor, one of those people who give so much to their communities - in warmth, kindness, music (great guitarist- once jammed with Jimi Hendrix!), drama (wrote the panto for many years) and generally being a lovely guy.

The response to the prayers was not "Lord, in your mercy - [All] hear our prayer" but "Trevor's lost and gone forever - [All] Oh no he isn't"!
