One of my favorite things in all CRPGs is the way that Pillars of Eternity 2 came up with unique names for each dual-class combination: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Multiclass . Every single one of them is pure red meat for coming up with a role-playing character conceit.

I’ve been watching Day9 and Grubby’s StarCraft: Remastered playthroughs and it’s really striking that, while the main game graphics are essentially perfectly improved, the character portraits were completely drained of personality.

I guess that’s just a small version of why WarCraft III: Reforged went so wrong: it’s fairly straightforward (conceptually) to draw up-res’d 2D art, but you need to really understand the vibe to make a new 3D model that feels right.
