SPLC exposed the identities of authors on the anti-LGBT, anti-immigrant "news" site Not the Bee. The site was ineptly coded and was publishing the "secret" information in the source code of its pages. I hope SPLC is ready to be charged with CFAA violations, and that any judges involved are smart enough to understand that using "View Source" is not hacking.

I don't believe that Patrick Mara and the rest of the DC local GOP have any real knowledge of or ability to affect what Trump and congressional Republicans are going to do to DC. It's not reassuring to be told yet again that they actually have no intention of doing something they repeatedly talk about.
Also, pretending that the Republican Party hasn't changed in 150 years is absurdly dishonest. It has not been the party of Lincoln or Frederick Douglass for a long time.

It's hard to know what parts of this explanation by Jeff Bezos are the worst. There's referring to journalism as "our profession", as if he's a journalist. There's claiming that choosing 12 days before the election to make this policy change was just an unfortunate coincidence. There's the idea that this sort of blatant interference will increase trust in the paper. Oh, and there's not even taking ownership of the decision, saying only "It was made entirely internally."
