We got a thermal camera to try to pinpoint the locations in this house where we're losing the most heat, and my spouse is both horrified and fascinated by how cold my fingertips are, lol. Their initial reaction was genuinely, "We need to fix you."

Do folks have a method for raising the head of their bed (for #POTS and acid reflux) that they like? I like the look of under-mattress wedges, but I'm wary of foam odors since I'm really sensitive to them. (Plus I have a platform bed so I'm worried that any solution will make my mattress slide off the end! 😭)

Today is a rest day, because yesterday I got a vaccine and embroidered for an hour (or maybe even a little more, oops).

But I wanna embroider. 😭 I have given my spouse my supplies and current project to help me resist.

I guess to tide me over, I could share my progress? It's a reversible blackwork bookmark, and so far I've completed the gryphon, a design from "Ensamplario Atlantio I."

It's weird; I went from being adamant that I can't do "art," to kind of realizing that now I can't work, art is all I want to do. Embroidery, zines, websites, photography, writing.

I just want to make things that express stuff, look pretty, or both. And I can. It might be painfully slow from the outside, but I can make things.

Been seeing folks posting on the hashtag #3GoodThings - and I remembered I used to write in a gratitude journal every day. I think I might start up again!

When I was tired I simply wrote one thing I was thankful for, but when I had more energy I did: 1) something that inspired me, 2) something that comforted me, and 3) something that brought me joy. It was tricky sometimes to think of all 3 things, but I liked doing it.

I'm really excited about embroidery & zines (& blogging!). It's really hard to pace myself and stop myself from overdoing things, but I'm trying my best.

(I guess worst case scenario, if I don't do it myself, my body will make me! But that's very unpleasant, haha.)

I didn't have soy milk and cereal this morning, and my heart rate/stress didn't spike after eating. My throat doesn't currently feel scratchy, either.

Sitting on the screened porch at dusk on the last night of our trip.

Squirrels rustle through the underbrush and fallen leaves. A line of geese fly overhead, honking twice. Crickets fill the air with constant chirping. Some crows caw in the distance.

Yesterday I went on a wheelchair-friendly hike and took pictures of trees and a river.

This morning my spouse is making eggs and pancakes.

Soon I'll learn Blackwork embroidery from a nearly 50-year-old, self-published book.

Took a walk (a "wheel") with my partner down to the local post office to drop off 20 letters to registered voters in Georgia! They took me many more weeks than I intended, but I finished them in time.

Still have 5 letters to write to fellow Floridians, but I'm now feeling pretty ill, so... Later. 😅

Cohost wasn't the place for me that I'd hoped it was, but today I'm taking a leaf from its book and testing out hiding numbers on websites with uBlock Origin's "picker."

Itch.io's dashboard (which I kept reflexively checking) no longer has the summary graphs or links to analytics.

Mastodon no longer shows likes, boost counts, or number of followers on profiles.

I'm interested to see if I notice a difference in my browsing behavior.
