Yesterday would have been my Mum's birthday.

Rosemary has a lot of uses, and has been a sacred plant of Remembrance to many cultures going back to ancient Egypt. We have some drying now.

After harvesting our lemon verbena, my wife has stewed some leaves for a most delicious and refreshing drink.

Lemon verbena is the strongest smelling lemon fragranced plant I know, and our house now has a fruity scent mingling with the herbs.

My wonderful Druid wife has been harvesting herbs this morning, and is about to start drying them.

Oregano, sage and chamomile are in the first batch. Our house smells like a huge bag of mixed herbs. There's already rosemary, lavender and rose petals drying

I think the neighbours are likely to get some of these. 🙂

Proud chess coach today as one of my students finished second in his age group at the Australian National Junior Championship. I'm not sure Tasmania has ever won a medal at the Australian Junior Chess Championship before, let alone a silver.

This little fella might not look like much, but they're a Dusky Robin and the first I've seen since moving to Tasmania. They are endemic to Tasmania, so you won't find them anywhere else 🙂

This beauty is a Gum Leaf Skeletoniser, also known as The Mad Hatterpillar. 😄

The baubles at its end are exoskeleton shells as the headpieces of the exoskeleton stays attached.
