Whenever I step into a moving walkway that is not in fact moving, my whole upper body lurches forward as I automatically compensate for a change in momentum that never happens.

One day I'm actually going to fall over, and it's going to be the most embarrassing thing ever.

Really enjoying the new series of The Traitors. It was an interesting development to have the first two tasks of the series be tasks in which the traitors might behave slightly differently, which generally hasn't been the case in the past.

Even if the main result was the faithful latching on to totally spurious reasons to suspect people. #TheTraitors

BBC article on the reaction to the trial of the men who raped Gisèle Pelicot, her bravery in bringing the case, and how it may reflect and shape attitudes to consent in France and beyond. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cd75v8eqz44o

And I know my anger won't help trans kids, but this decision is going to cause harm and distress to people I love. So I am really, really pissed off at Wes Streeting right now.

Firstly, we knew this was coming, but this still really hurts. Secondly, the headline is inaccurate: puberty blockers will continue to be prescribed for cis kids who need them. And quite right too, there's no evidence that they're dangerous.

Having complained about the lack of this before, I should acknowledge that there was a same-sex couple front-and-centre in one of the professionals' show dances in the #Strictly results show. It's taken to the semi finals, but at least it happened once.

Brilliant jive there from Sarah and Vito, and I loved the outfits, which @Fred_SL described as "Servalan in pyjamas and her sex slave". #Strictly

Chris has always been a superb dancer from the waist downwards, but he's getting really good throughout and his acting and expressiveness has improved enormously. That was a fantastic quickstep - for the first time I'm thinking of Chris and Dianne as properly final material. #Strictly

It's a real shame, because most of the dancing that is there is superb, and I'm really enjoying it.

Representation matters, and when you withdraw representation that was previously there, it is damaging and hurtful.

Do better, #Strictly.

I mean, it's #Strictly, so it's still queer AF in vibes. And if they hadn't had actual same-sex pairings in most dances for the past few years, then vibes might be enough.

But they did. All the time. So vibes just don't cut it any more. Give us same-sex dance pairings, with no fuss, you cowards.

[#]Strictly this year is so allergic to same-sex pairings that not only are there no same-sex celebrity/pro pairings, none of the dancers in the professional performances are in same-sex pairings. Including, tonight, when dancing to a medley performed by the actual Pet Shop Boys. Genuinely angry.

Although the generated subtitles on Amazon Prime leave a lot to be desired. For example, at the end, Catherine announces her victory by tolling on a large bell. Peter sits up in bed and demands to know why the bells are ringing. Or, according to the subtitles, "why are those cowboys running?"

I have just watched The Scarlet Empress, the Marlene Dietrich/Josef von Sternberg 1934 film about Catherine The Great. It is utterly glorious, and Dietrich's gear change when she transforms Catherine from innocent newcomer at court to smouldering power player is breathtaking.
